As the son of a diplomat, he lived in Washington DC, Santiago de Chile, Vienna, Brussels and in Moscow at a very early age. His easygoing manner with people from various cultures and with different languages also helped him later on in life.
Clemens Ritter von Wagner has many years experience in the field of exquisite design. His final university thesis was on Vivienne Westwood and, among others, he worked for Donna Karan in Quartier 206, Cerruti 1881 and later for the king of all jewellers and jeweller of all kings, Cartier, for whom he managed the business transactions in Stuttgart, Hamburg, Vienna and Palm Beach.
He perfectioned his skills during an apprenticeship for the classification of diamonds (DGEmG) at the Deutsche Gemmologische Gesellschaft e.V. (German Gemmological Society) in Idar-Oberstein.
Prior to his graduation, Oliver Hofmann knew already that he would turn the beautiful things in life into his profession.
Attending the “Staatliche Zeichenakademie” in Hanau, built the foundation; there he acquired the basics of designing and manufacturing jewelry at a very high level. Working for ten years in the management of a renowned Berlin jewel store completed the combination of design and business knowledge. As a logical consequence, Oliver Hofmann opened the “Schmuckräume” in 1999 on Kurfürstendamm. It is the only business in Berlin which strictly focuses on German modern jewelry.
Combining the good with the good – this might be the motto of the business cooperation between “Schmuckräume” and “Wagner Preziosen” which came into effect in June 2019. A long-term affiliation, a trustful relationship and above all, the love for jewelry build the basis for this cooperation.
